Am 27. Januar 2009 wurde die Atel Holding AG zur Alpiq Holding AG umfirmiert. Damit ist der Weg frei für den Zusammenschluss von Atel und EOS und den Start der neuen Marke Alpiq. Alpiq wird in der Schweiz der führende Energiedienstleister und für rund ein Drittel der Schweizer Stromversorgung verantwortlich sein. Das Unternehmen wird einen konsolidierten Umsatz von rund CHF 16 Milliarden erzielen und über 10’000 Mitarbeiter in 29 Ländern beschäftigen.
Atel and EOS join forces in the beginning of 2009 to become the leading Swiss energy provider with a European orientation. The transaction contracts were signed on 18 December. The new company will operate under the name Alpiq.
The Zürich branding agency MetaDesign is consultant for the merger of the two leading electricity companies in Switzerland, which the Handelszeitung newspaper calls the “biggest electricity deal in Swiss history”. MetaDesign developed the brand strategy and corporate identity as the basis for its subsequent development of the entire brand appearance.
The new look is an expression of the brand’s current strategy, developed with the Zürich branding agency MetaDesign. The target was to realign the strategy and to hone the brand’s positioning. The new look enhances the Helsana group’s development from a health maintenance organization to a holistic provider of person-related insurance for private and corporate clients. Key features of the new look are the basic color red and a modern logotype.
One of Switzerland’s most well-known research and consulting institutes moves to a new address and continues on its successful path. MetaDesign assists in the move.

MetaDesign Zurich has developed the new brand strategy and future visual identity for the world’s leading premium tour operator. The foundation of the work was a new strategy developed in response to the challenges of a changing market environment.
The existing NZZdomizil.ch real estate platform was expanded and recently placed online. MetaDesign developed and designed the site in close cooperation with the editorial team, marketing department and a technical implementation partner.
