MetaDesign recognized in the 2011 Communication Arts Annual

A new identity design to support a local business

Duetto is a new cafe opening in Emeryville, California that will be a sister establishment to the popular Jackson Place Cafe in San Francisco’s financial district. The project allowed MetaDesign a special opportunity to work with a neighborhood business and build connections in our local community. The Duetto logo conveys a casual and rustic, but decidedly contemporary, feel befitting the metal and wood structures of the cafe’s interior. The identity was selected by Communication Arts as one of 179 winners out of a total of 2,135 entries submitted for this year’s Annual from 46 different countries.

The Communication Arts Typography Annual is a new addition to the Communication Arts series of Annuals. Since 1959, Communication Arts has published the best in visual communications from around the world. To find the best work, CA sponsors creative competitions that recognize the finest talent in the industry. Winners are selected by juries of their peers and published in the annuals.
